PLAYER RANGE: NBA Contributor - NBA Top Starter
PLAYER COMPARISON: Greg Oden, Robert Williams
UNDENIABLE SKILL: Shot blocking
STRENGTHS: Williams is an elite rim protector and shot blocker. Guards his space well in drop coverage on pick and rolls. Intuitively knows when to switch on to the guard and when to recover back to his man. Williams show great timing and anticipation for blocking shots from the weak side. He has a high basketball IQ and plays hard. Williams serves as a big time lob threat. Runs the floor hard in transition. Offensively, Williams is good on the roll where he rolls with great force and is able to show balance and be in control and finish at the rim. Shows great hands catching the ball seldomly dropping a pass. He has a bit of the back to the basket game and get his own buckets with jump hooks over both shoulders.
CONCERNS: Williams can be a bit of a plodder. His footsteps aren’t very agile and nimble He doesn’t change directions at a speed to contend with the likes of his future counterparts in the NBA.
