A play where you throw the ball up near the rim and your teammate catches it in the air and finishes—without coming down.
What it is #
- Pass usually goes above the rim
- Teammate jumps, catches, and scores in one motion
- Usually a dunk, sometimes a quick layup
What makes it work #
- Timing — both players have to read each other
- Placement — the pass has to be catchable and away from defenders
- Trust — you throw it knowing your teammate will go get it
When you use it #
- Fast breaks
- Backdoor cuts
- When a defender turns their head
High-level example #
- LeBron James to Dwyane Wade — full speed, perfect timing
Your voice version #
“Throw it where only your guy can go get it.”
