On February 16, 2025, the No. 7 UConn Huskies delivered a commanding 87-58 victory over the No. 4 South Carolina Gamecocks, ending South Carolina’s impressive 71-game home winning streak.
Azzi Fudd led the Huskies with 28 points, including six three-pointers. Freshman Sarah Strong contributed a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds, while Paige Bueckers added 12 points and 10 assists.
UConn’s defense was pivotal, limiting South Carolina to just 3-of-17 from beyond the arc. The Huskies also dominated the boards, securing a season-high 48 rebounds.
This victory not only halted South Carolina’s home streak but also ended UConn’s four-game losing streak against the Gamecocks. The Huskies will return to Big East play on Wednesday against Seton Hall.
